Exotic Wood Zone was founded in 2013 by Jockey Mohammed in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1980, Jockey’s father T.J Casper established Blue Mountain Exporters in Fort Kochi India which specialized in exotic woods such as ebony and rosewood guitars to provide clients like Takamine, Victorinox, Maderas Barber, West Penn Hardwoods, and Marton Guitars.
After starting his career with his father's wood exporting business in the 80s, Jockey learned passionately about various woods in manufacturing musical instruments. He used to passionately work in his father’s mill.
For the past 26 years, Jockey has been supplying specialized exotic wood products to countries like Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the USA, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, Spain, and more. During this period he started offices at Cochin for fast shipments and became a member of the NAMM show in 2001.
In 2021 Jockey took over management of the Blue Mountain Sawmill and Exporting business from his father, who passed away that year. Later, Blue Mountain incorporated with Exotic Wood Zone to form Exotic Wood Zone India.
Starting in 2012, Exotic Wood Zone is now a leading name among luthiers, woodworkers, and woodturners. For the past decade, Exotic Wood Zone passionately served over 100,000 customers with a strong presence on eCommerce platforms like eBay and Amazon.
Exotic Wood Zone is now operating from a 25000 square feet facility in St. Louis and has over 50+ species of lumber and wood varieties in various categories. Thus, making us one of the largest lumber suppliers in the Midwest. Moreover, we are a passionate team of 20 members with our best quality products and passionate customer service.
