Just like the name, the wood has conspicuous flecking. The wood is medium to dark reddish-brown color to grey or light brown rays that resembles the spots of a leopard. They are durable and decay-resistant. However, they are a little bit tricky to work with because of their high density and tendency to tear out during planing.
